Swap on a pair of EB heads and drop another 50 lbs. Scumacher sells everything that you need, to make the swap painless.

By the time you add in the crank, rods, and intake diferences, you're probably purty close.

The weights listed by LW are pretty much standard bare block weights and will be no more than 5-10# over listed weights, if any. (depends on core casting)

The complete engines will be around be around a 125-135# difference.

With aluminum heads on the RB.....you're down to about 85#.

Move the battery to the bed, aluminum radiator, and creative weight removal......minus another 55-65 lbs., not to mention A/C components if you have them.

The swap would be easier on the 400 block and the weight with aluminum heads will almost match a steel head smallblock.

My RB weighed 480 lb complete, wet and with a manual flywheel. Oh, almost forgot; it's aluminum.

How did you hold up the engine while you stood on the scales?
