Help 440 six pack conversion

I have a 1969 Dodge Super Bee with a fresh 440 in it... at the time, performance cam/lifters/intake/exhaust seemed like it would be enough for the old girl, but after driving her for a while, I find I have plenty of horses but not enough gas mileage. I figure on upgrading to the six pack setup for added HP and, more importantly, gas mileage. Has anyone done this? Are there any problems with the original hood? (Have the ramcharger hood on now). Is there a place for cheap parts? So far Summit and Mopar Performance are coming out in the lead for price. I figure I can get the whole setup for ~$1800.00 brand new - or cheaper on ebay. Any tips/tricks would be appreciated.

Try Koller Dodge. They usually have the best price on the complete 6 pak setup.

that bee must be an automatic or a clone.
Because its not a post car.
Either way its still a nice ride.

I would hope that it is a clone, as the real ones didn't have wings, hood pins or centerlines. But, like you said, it is a real nice looking car.

Actually.. it is an automatic, not a clone. Of course the wing is not stock nor the wheels.... but a nice addition I thought. Of course the original engine was a 383, but the 440 just sounded so much nicer.

I haven't been able to find any original N96 optioned cars out here. Could you post an underhood picture showing the correct location (on the firewall) of the airgrabber cable. Also, where is the interior portion of the cable supposed to mount?

I've got a '69 Coronet 500 convertible that I am going to be putting a Ramcharger/AirGrabber hood on. Although it isn't the correct hood for this car, I would at least like to get the cable installed close to where it belongs.

This is the only picture of the engine I have right now... but tomorrow I should be able to post a couple with the info you need. The mount is under the dash directly to the right of the drivers seat... next to the passenger seat vent cable.

You can barely make out the vent handle in this picture behind the steering wheel (it is bright orange)

Cool... Thanks for the pics. I had been told that the cable came through the firewall, near the voltage regualtor. From your pic, I can see that was very wrong.

What is the correct height of your air cleaner assembly. I'm thinking from the top of the ID pad (to the right of the distributor) to the front lip of the base plate or the front edge of the cover.

Thanks

i did a 6 pak swap on my cuda, i have since taken it off and now using a 850 demon, my advice would be to call koller dodge and buy the complete bolt on set up, it is worth the money , if i were to do it again that is what i would do. hunting down parts is a pain in the arse. soon as you think you have all the right stuff , you find out something else wont work. you will only end up paying a few hundred more than if you pieced everything together on ebay and everything is new.
