Question Shumachers and spool mounts????

The c-body mounts are spool type I know! Will they fit my 73 Duster organilly spool type? How do they compare to the shumachers spool mounts designed for the 73 up A&F bodies! Also I was told these will work ( c-body spool's) and would not need to notch my K frame for the oil pump! Please help before I spend $175 for mounts and shipping, and I can get a set of C-body mounts for free! (late 70's C-body)

mounts

Get the c mounts they will work.
I have used the big block spool mounts from nearly all bodies after 73.
And found no differance in any of them.

Thanks Dan!
You saved me $150 + shipping were do I send you cut too! LOL By the way I known on the shum's mounts you got to notch the K frame by the oil pump! Will I need to do this on the K frame for the c mounts?

the notch you have to make for the oil pump with the schumakers setup is on the flat part where the biscuit mounts rests, not even an issue with spool mount

I have some BB C-body mounts laying around and they are taller than the SB mounts in my A-body. Both are '74 model year. Not sure if they will work. I will dig them up and take some pics to compare.

I got the mounts today and compared them to small block mounts which I know will work there seems to be little differance accept being long which of coarse is the issue of all small block to big block mounts when compared! We will see!

When I swapped a big block into my 73 duster that originaly had a slant six the spool mounts from a 74 newyorker did not even come close. I went with the spool mounts from schumaker. If you want the engine in the factory position you have to notch for the oil pump. Is that the type of swap your doing? Also the schumaker ones are polyurathane not mushy rubber. You dont want the engine to move around when you have that tight of clearance.

I think maybe the differance in your setup was the K member altogather! I now the mounts to go from a 6 to a B/RB are different fron the A to B/RB! In your case the older spool mounts would not work. The 6 k frame is alot different than the V-8 k frame!

OH your car had a small block. Then I cant help you out. I just wanted to help out if I could. Schumaker does have nice stuff though but a little expensive. By the way the big block in an A body is a wild ride!
