Question RR Leaf Springs Question

I have a 1970 Road Runner that is a bit low in the rear. I have rearched leaf springs before but they want to sag again eventually. I have decided to buy new leaf springs but cannot decide between XHD or SS? I want it to sit up in the back so I can bring the front up some but I do not want it too high. I do not have a local car to compare so I am hoping someone here could help.

I want the well lip to sit just barely below the top of the tire. I hope that makes sense. I will be mounting either 15 or 16 wheels.

Here is how I want mine to sit. Maybe the owner of this car can respond too. Anyone know who owns this car?

Thanks for your time.

S/S springs will do this for you. I just don't know if one set gives more lift than another. The front hangers that you'll need, have 2 bolt spots. chose the lower hole for added lift.
Match your springs to the engine and weight.

The SS springs used to be available in a + one inch arch, a zero arch, and a - one inch arch.....but that has probably all changed over the years. The commonly used 002-003 combo will raise the backend substantially......more than you have described.

The HD springs are less expensive, more forgiving for street driving, and do not require the added expense of the longer front hanger and should......I repeat should give you the height you want. It is also relatively easy to add a full or half leaf from your old springs onto the HD's to get the height you want.

those springs that were 1' zero an -1' were the oval track springs.
The OE-XHD springs are the same as what came with the car. It will sit normal. I have a set.

Either way, I think both springs will give what you want. I have the old Hemi springs in my Bee and it sits about the same way.
I installed SS springs in my Dart along with drag shocks (1 inch longer) and the back sits about the same. With the SS leafs just be sure you choose the proper spring rate for the car.

Default Thank You!!

Thanks for the help, I think I will probably go with the XHD 440 springs. I got an email from a guy with a charger and he said these gave his car about an 1-1.5" lift in the rear. Mine sag so much I will probably get more.

Thanks Again!!

Bob
