Headers in a dart
I'm building a 360 for a '72 dart with a friend. I have been looking at old post about TTI vs Hooker headers. My question is has anybody tried putting headers in an a body? I would like to be get the ceramic coated headers but don't want to have to bet and bang to get them on. Will I need to go through the center link like the $100 headers?
Thanks. |

there a pain but they do go in there lol . i just put a set in my 72 dart but in did it the easy way this time . motor, trans, k member, headers all at the same time . an yes the drag links goes through the headers. i use dyno max cerama coated headers they were very close but dont hit . ididnt have to hammer dent or anything else to them good luck if the motor in there all ready you almost have to pull it to get them in but that 's life with an a body lol have fun ......72 prostreet 340 ...... ps the starter is the best part i use a big block it just does fit

I would buy the hooker comps & pull out the motor to install them. You will owe your buddy big time after he helps you insall them. LOL Have fun!!!

TTI's
I installed a set of TTI headers in our 67 a body with power steering. The only thing I want to suggest is to wrap the #1 exhaust tube with something to protect the surface of the tube. I "kind of beat the crap out of it" and really wish I had taken more time with the prep. I love them and highly recommend them. Just follow the instructions. Just trying to help. Toddd

Yes I like them...
Yes I really like them. I wish I would've got them polished though, I was "assuming" that I would've got the shiny ones..oh well.
I got them through Olsen Dodge in Omaha NB. Ask for John Cambridge in parts. I can't remember what I paid for them , but they were cheaper than the prices I see now. Hope this helps. Toddd And one other thing...use Stage 8 fasteners. |
