Question 4150 vs 4160 Holley carb q's

which is better carb being that the the 4160 has a metering plate and the 4150 has the metering block that uses traditional jets. this would aid in tunabilty. but it doesnt seem nessasary as majority of carbs are like the 1850 being a 4160 series. and furhter more could i convert it over with the back metering block froma double pumper and the longer fuel extension tube.

you can go from a 4160 to a 50 with the block and the longer fuel transfer tube. As for a DP block and bowl, the center casting does not have the fuel provisions for the second squirter. Other than that, the DP block and bowl will work. Some like the 4 jets.
