can anyone clear up a problem i have on my 83 rampage? when i make left turns it makes a matalic like clicking noise . i cant find any unusual wear patters and i have no clue where it is coming from, i was told it may be the shift linkage but it seems fine another friend said it may be a strut tower bushing, are either of these accurate? any info is needed , thanks

If it only clicks in a moderate to hard left turn then it is you CV joint. Check the boot underneath the car for rips, has it thrown all of the grease out? if so then you need to replace it. you can purchase them at any auto parts store for exchange of your old one, they are normally around $100-180 bucks. Hope this helps.

I think it is your cv joint too. A lot of times it's cheaper to buy the whole driveshaft assembly with both the inner and outer cv joints included. Less work and usually a life time warranty. Price will depend if it's the left or right side shaft. Right side shaft is longer except on turbos and they have equal length shafts.

Just a little info for you.If you have a clicking on either side during a sharp turn your outer CV is going. If you have a viberation in the front end and it isn't wheel balance i could be the inner CV. Just
had 1 go.
