I've had to replace the AC evaporator TWICE in the last 20 months. Chyrsler only warrented the part 12 months. This cost me $650 each time.
Had to have the main seal replaced on the transaxle. It's a 3.0L V6 w/Auto Tranny. This cost $550. The shop told me that Chrysler minivans were notorious for that problem. When I contacted my dealer, they said they'd never heard of that. When I logged ont NHSTA's complaint, there were many tranny and AC problems listed. Has anyone else had these problems? Does anyone know where I can file a formal complaint? Maybe Chrysler will initiate a recall if there are enough complaints concerning these issues. |

Marc,
Yep, had the problem with my 3.0L 90 Acclaim transmission. Of course, that was in 1998 and I had almost 8 years of "trouble free" service. Best car I've ever owned. Never had an A/C problem with that Plymouth but I suspect you may need to have a "good" A/C mechanic look at it. One replacement is ALL you should do -- doing it every year is NOT normal. Usually the seals fail and can be replaced (at least on the older MoPars) without replacing the evaporator!! Hafta look into that on the 95 Voyager. BTW, this is NOT the forum to post your question...you'd get better response in one of the performance chat areas. Later, JC |
