Arrow 440 cast piston question??

I just bought some new pistons of ebay but dont have alot of info. Compression height or anything.

sealed power 424P

these will be going into one of my 440's with 915 closed chamber heads, and steel shim headgaskets for added squeeze! They are .040 overbore. Got them and rings both new in a box for $122 delivered.

You will need to get a set of venier calipers to check the comp. height. I would suggest taking it all to a machine shop and having everything mic'ed and blueprinted to make sure that everything is in spec, and you have what you think you have. It would really suck to get a .040 overbore and end up having a .030 over piston. Even if you have a correct set for the part #, assembly lines do often make errors.

Without the piston to messure ,there is no way to bore to the proper clearance

424 sounds like a ring number, pistons usually have four digits.

6-packin---do you know how to check the comp. height (assuming you have some good calipers)? Just measure from the top of the wristpin bore to the crown of the piston, and add half of the pin diameter (.547 for stock wristpin).

Nope sorry no calipers yet just picked up a nice mic though to measure 2 inch to 5 inch for things like crank throughs/journals!
