Aluminium or cast-iron?
If I'm looking to buy a bellhousing and an oil filter adapter, are there any reasons (safety?) why I shouldn't get aluminium ones?
Is an aluminium oil filter adapter more likely to leak to it's higher heat expansion coefficient? Will an aluminium bellhousing be strong enough to handle 400+ hp's? |

Use the aluminum oil filter adaptor, from MP they are expensive. They are much lighter than They also used them on regular production engines, I think in the 80's (someone else may know exact years) they used them.
As for the bellhousing, the aluminum one will handle the power no problem, but if you are racing or do alot of agressive driving you would want a steel bellhousing (scattershield) in-case the flywheel or clutch explodes. You could lose you foot or worse. |

For the bellhousing, make sure that it is a blow proof unit and that it meets SFI standards. Like duster said, you don't want to loose a foot, if the disc comes apart.
