Locked Dif?

I race an 85 Charger on a dirt track and I'm thinking about locking my differential. Has anyone had success with this? Can it be done without ruining it in case i want to change it back?

I guess all that is available cheaply is welding the side gears to the diff case but this might be illegal for your type of racing. If you are allowed to do this then you could just change the diff case back to an open diff.
