Default piston people

I know this has been asked a million times. Now it's a million and one.
With the numbers I have the KB calc for compression is showing me as having a 10.758:1 compression ratio(guessing on the chamber size as 63.3cc... I had them cc'd but the good ole boys are out to lunch...)

Assuming the chambers are no smaller than 63.3 is 10.758 going to run on 93 octane pump gas? I was looking in the range of 10.4-10.5:1... not 10.75. I fill even my 8:1 cars with pump premium(it's only like a buck anyway) so this one will be no different, but with the nearest airport being miles away and this car being a daily driver, will I get away with this? Can I use a thicker than .039 head gasket(who makes it and what is it called... compressed thickness is good to know too). My 360 is .020 over and getting KB107s with 587 casting heads. No milling or porting. 2.02" valves with mild bowl work.

I don't want to pay machining to have brand new pistons cut down unless I have to. What do y'all think?

Got a hold of them. 68.1 cc chambers. I was way off. Thank goodness. 10.18 sounds a whole lot better.

10.18 is in a margin area. It may run on pump gas (93 octane) or it may oing. It all depends on the cam. 9.5 is usually the max that you want to run with iron heads and pump gas. 10.5 is usually the max with aluminum heads and pump gas.

Just to clarify. I wouldn't use aviation fuel in a car. If it's anything like up here there's no real gain in the octane. And it makes your engine run hot. Go for the real thing at the tracks.

I'm going to give it a shot. If it pings are there thicker head gaskets available? The nearest track is Kil Kare and that's still quite a drive away.

I wouldn't mind having to use a can of octane booster at each fill up if that would up me a point or two (but from discussions I've read it's more like half a point, right?)

I'm going to have racer brown do the cam so I would assume he can make one to bleed off some of the cylinder pressure. Can someone check my numbers though?

KB107
.030 over 360
stock stroke
68.1 cc heads
.039 head gasket (bore unknown)
need anything else?
