I'm thinking of buying a 1990 caravan with a 3.3 motor. It runs and drives good, I want to tow with it. Does any one have a good or bad thing to say about the 3.3 motor.
Thinks Christy.

The 3.3 has been a pretty good mill, but it's the trans in the van I question. If it's the original 604 I would be a little leary of it as there are so many updates to this trans that it would hardly warrant rebuilding. If it has a reman make sure it is a 94 or newer. (93 isn't too bad) Also before you tow anything INSTALL A TRANS COOLER!! This will help big time.

J body is right. Good motor, but those transmissions are a problem. Hope you dont plan on towing anything heavy.

Whatz up
Trans shifts good I'll find out if it's been rebuilt. I plan on towing my 86 charger on a dollie, and a small yard trailer. Thanks for the info. Christy

make sure the crankshaft does not have the frt. & rear seals leaking. The early 3.3's had problems with the thrust bearings wearing. Also take the oil fill cap off of the valve cover & see if it sludged up,if it has not had the oil changed ,they are bad about the cam bearings flaking & not oiling the back head.
