No, you should stay as far away from that as possible. But give me his number and I'll take care of him for you. Seriously man, jump on it. That's a screaming deal. I believe those carbs alone worth $350. Do you know what kind of intake he has? At any rate, I would take it if I were you. It sounds like you can't really go wrong.

For the Slant 6, I think Clifford is the only maker of a three deuce intake. I haven't seen any others. But maybe Offenhauser or Weiand might have something that I haven't seen.

Down here in OZ I have seen alot of triple carbed slant and hemi sixes. Triple side draft SU/Stromberg set ups are easy to find for slants and were first made by Offenhauser and were later made by Lynx, I believe they still make em. Redline manifolds also make stuff for slants and hemis like Holley 2bbl and triple Delorto/Weber manifolds down here.
With the current exchange rate between Australia and US they would be good value for money. |

An update to correct my last post.
Redline manifolds here in Australia only make single four barrel and triple Delorto/Weber manifolds for 245/265 Hemi sixes. Lynx however at www.lynxcorp.com.au make the following: slant six 3 x DHLA $366.91 Aus slant six 1 x DHLA $348.81 Aus slant six 3 x SU $380.49 Aus slant six 2 x SU $359.04 Aus They also have the same for the 245/265 Hemi six and they have a good reputation down here. |

lynx intakes
Tozer...
Have you seen the Lynx intakes up close? I thought they were no longer casting...must have started up again. I've seen older Lynx intakes (60s?) and the quality of the castings is pretty crude (pinholes and other surface flaws) when compared to Offy. Are these new ones of better quality? I would expect so, as foundry technology has come a long way in the last 30+ years. Let us know. Thanks. ---sixpuppy |

The link is www.cliffordperformance.com. And John is right, the Aussie dollar is only around .55 to our dollar, so your money goes a lot farther there. The shipping can be a little pricey, however. I have gotten a lot of stuff from Ebay Australia; the Aussie Mopars are bad ass!

Yes older Lynx manifolds are on occasion questionable but have improved I believe, I wouldn't day there up to Offy standard though. Lynx do have a wide range of parts however, hell they have stuff to hotrod ya Hillman!
I have seen a Lynx on a 225 slant close up a few years back working on a mates 65 AP6 with Speco-Thomas floor shift, a bit of a bugger tuning the strombergs so maybe SU's would be better n' bigger. Triple Delortos may be over carbing it if the motor's not that worked and theyr'e expensive. The key is good linkages for good response. $350 for a used manifold sounds pricey to me when you can have a new Aussie one for half (exchange rate) and i've seen em in the paper second hand for around $150 Aus. Check out www.moparmarket.com.au there's heaps of stuff for sale and advice. Bloody hell, for $350 US you could probably pick up an Aussie Hemi six that's good for about 220HP stock with tranny. Surf the net for Aussie Valiant performance workshops and you'll be surprised at what you can find for slants down here. |

I can't imagine what it would cost to have an engine crated and shipped to the States, and then trucked from the dock to wherever one lives. Maybe one day I will, though. Most folks here wouldn't know what the hell a Hemi six was; they'd probably mistake it for a Slant Six. Until they were handed their ass, that is.

How could I forget Cain!
I'm on holiday in Brisbane Queensland at the moment and I saw a 1963 S series Valiant with a Cain tripple Weber manifold hanging off the side with the engine linked up to a Borg-Warner single rail four speed manual. It sounded cool. What a beast! |
