Question cast stroker crank?

My question is, is there a cast version of the 4.15" stroke rb crank?

If so, any part # or manufacturer information available?

I know there is a cast version of the 4" sb stroke crank, and it seems to cost alot less than it's forged brother.

I was thinking Muscle Motors has them. But why cast?

I'm interested in the cost differences. The forged one seems to go for about $2500 canadian(1500 usa)

Not sure of the 4.15", but Hughes is going to have the 4.25 in High Strength Cast Iron soon...they figure about $400 US $. That's about 10K in CDN $

They're on the menu between Choy mein and Egg Foo Young, in the scrambled component section of your local Takee-outee.

Guys.....I believe the Hughes deal will be an in-house welded stroker. If you look close, they are advertising for 440 cores.

Could be for something completely different...., but they are looking for cores.

...so are we......I believe they're trying to get cores for they're kit program...like everyone else.

To my knowledge there was only 750,000 440 forged crank engines ever built and everyone is looking for them.

The cast cranks from SCAT, MP and everyone else are cast in China.

cuda66273...knew about the cast cranks, but I was under the impression Hughes was doing a welded stroker.

The really funny thing is I have never had trouble find forged cranks for 440's. Some damaged journals, but always available. I have a Delta 1/2 stroker in the shop now, and was told 440 forged cores were pricey....I deal in parts and did not know that.

I have between 10-20 on hand now. Have not counted lately. I weld 'em up and cut 'em down.

So, gotcha - what do you charge to weld up and cut down a stock forged crank? An extra 1/2" of stroke would really add torque to my overweight truck.

Idea 4.25 Stroker cranks from Hughes

The cranks that Hughes is advertising are new items. They are nodular cast iron. I am sure they are imported but they are supposed to be high quality good to 800HP

72 Challenger.....just do my own work....with help from a crank guru here in Texas. Not a production shop.....but I could point you in the correct direction. I understand that a couple of the National Crank Companies now have a complete service for 440 cores that is pretty reasonable. Crankshaft Specialties is one... I believe.
