80s and early 90s Dodge truck guys Read on!
If you ever noticed that your dash gauges are rather innacurate, or sometimes they read correctly and sometimes they don't, here is what I did.
Pull the gauge cluster out and take a cresent wrench to the nuts on the gauge terminals. ALL of the nuts on my gauges were loose. My gauges would read accurately sometimes, and sometimes not. My Ammeter gauge never worked since I bought the vehicle. I tightened up all the nuts and TA DAA! All the gauges work correctly now. If you want to try this be very careful with the tranny shift indicator cord. It breaks pretty easily. Mine came loose and snapped back and broke the needle off the indicatior. I took the gauge cluster out and disassembled it, found the needle and glued it back together. |

most of my connections were completely rusted on. I dont know where all the moisture came from, but Im not touching any since I broke one off trying to unscrew it. It actually started to bend the guage since the screw is part of the guage background. Glad you figured it out.
