Default W2 mild porting flow numbers

I've been involved with a set of W2 heads ( PN4532693 ), the intake runner volume stock on this set of heads is 180.1 cc , I did a very slight touch up, pushrod pinch, bolt bump, little bit around the guide boss, very minor blend of the short turn & had a flow test

intake 2.02 @ 28 in

lift.../cfm
.100/77
.200/128
.300/178
.400/226
.500/253
.600/271
.700/271

I've taken 3 cc more out so runner volume is 183.1 cc now, not bad really for a little bit of work.

After this it starts to get more serious, still a long way to go yet.

Default beauty, eh?

I bought a new set of these heads simply for the bang for the buck. And you just proved it . Well donel
One question. Did you use the Chryco template or your own logic?

No template was used, just plain ol' Mopar logic

Yes it's sure easier starting with a performance head, hoping to nudge the cfm up to just over 300 cfm

I hear that. Wondering what you might be doing for rockers. I ordered a set from Chrysler but ended up 2 short. Seems they stopped making or carrying the nodular bushed iron stuff.

There was an excellent article in one of the Mopar rags this summer and they pushed the intake flow up to 320 cfm with the 2.02 valve. Nothing fancy, just logic. Good luck.

Thanks Len, the heads aren't mine, doing them for a friend, I do believe he's going all the way with the valve train, roller rockers etc

Anything over 300 cfm would be a bonus

Hey fast one, did you flow bench those before you started porting?

I just got a pair of factory heads that were ported to flow with STOCK oval port W2 heads. It was 8 years ago when he flow benched them so he can't remember the #s...

I know he isn't just telling me these heads are awesome and will give you 100hp smoke blowing, but I would just like to find out how much these "oval port" W2 heads flow...
He has a 10 second valiant, I've seen it in magazines so he seems to know what he's doing!

i have had the oval w2s stock on the dart for over 10 years, just this last winter i went wild on them(i mean, spark brothers perfomance)
they now flow 325" and the car picked up a 1/2 sec and allot of mph!!!
well worth the $$$$$$$$

Sounds awesome 10second, these heads really pump out the cfm don't they.

Fury I did a flow test stock but these heads are a recent part number with the strengthening ribs near the head bolts, so I don't think the numbers would be valid to answer your question properly, they flowed a bit better stock than I anticipated, was only expecting low to mid 240's, anyway here it is

intake

lift.../cfm
.100/87
.200/142
.300/187
.400/223
.500/253
.600/259
.700/259

exhaust

lift.../cfm
.100/69
.200/121
.300/151
.400/163
.500/166
.600/166
.700/166

I've hardly touched the heads yet so there's quite some grinding etc to get finished, should gradually feed results back at each stage of porting.

I've just finished polishing the chambers, now they can go to the machine shop & get the miscellaneous machine work done ready for the next stage in porting
