Question One dumb ? Just need one ! answer

I've got a fresh hot tanked set of 456 heads and want to cc the chambers. What is the best way to hold the valves in the seat to cc with the old 1/2 glass ATF syringe method? I've done it before without putting the springs keepers etc back on but my mind fails me, just like some other parts of my body

I always just use some low temp grease (Vaseline, engine assy. grease, Dynatex) around the seats, but I definately wouldn't use smurf snot! (permatex) As far as holding them in, gravity has always worked fine for me.
