Default early A body 4-speeds

Just trying to find a 4-speed for our 66 Barracuda. Will any A-body style fit the 'cuda? Also where is the mounting point for the shifter supposed to be. I have seen them at the front of the tail shaft and at the back by the rear seal.

If you're looking for a '66 because of the 4 bolt flange, let me know. I have a '65 SB A833 iron laying in the garage that will either get sold or converted to slip yoke for the Scamp......

How do you convert it to slip yoke? Actually I am looking for one because when we bought our 66 it was converted to a 904. It was a 3 on the tree. We have the floor hump and most of the shifter linkage. Since the tranny is starting to act up in low and reverse, no time better than now to put a manual back in it The auto in here is rigged, a threaded rod going under the gas pedal is the shifter, which randomly causes the throttle to stick. So........If you do want to get rid of it, I could probably take it off your hands. I found a guy that had a tranyy but it was out of a Dart, (I think) not sure if it would would. Where are you at, I think I need a reason for a road trip.

A conversion for this type is a 4 bolt flange to a yoke, with a Ujoint to a splined receiver. the driveshaft is splined like a 4X4 driveshaft on one end and yoked at the other. Measure the center yoke to yoke on a compressed drivetrain (no jack, just sitting there) and add 3/4 inch. that is how long youll need with the splines buried.
