Default Gettin Spanked

I remember passing a red 62 Imperial with my 1969 Mach one on my way to a family picnic
about 1973, only to be blown off the road and left behind.
arriving at Parker dam State Park, find my sister with her family parking said Imperial. It was the same car that towed my 3/4 ton Ford flatbed home after blowing up on the bypass. I've since owned about 20+ mopars my self.

I have 2 of those.

My first car was a 69 Mach 1, 351 W. Auto. Nice looking car, total dog!
A guy at school had a 70 340 4 sp Duster I tried to race him for about 30 feet.

Right out school, a guy I worked with had a 70 Cuda 340 auto, I was going flat out on the hwy maybe 125 or so. Another frickin Mopar goes by like I was a blue hair!.
Within a year I owned that Mopar. That same engine is in the one I have now.

I'd like to know what normal factory muscle car could keep up with a 340 4 speed Duster or Dart?

A 1968 Dodge Dart with 383,440,or hemi 4spd. Either of those three factory originals should wax your 340 pretty good I would say.

I dont think they would do alot of waxing in this case. Win probably. I did say normal cars meaning cars you regularly saw on the street. I never saw a 383 Dart car myself. I know they were around somewplace.

My point is that Mach 1 beat most everyone I came across and that the Mopars just stomped it!
Had alot to do with where Im at now.
