440/727 stall speed
On a rebuilt 727, to factory spec's, what would be the stall speed of the TC? Also if I have a drip from the flywheel cover(couple of drops when parked) after driving should I be concerned? Can I caulk/putty it up like the rear end bellhousing to stop the leak?
Thanks! |

Is it motor oil or trans fluid? 1 or 2 drops is not really much to worrie about , either way... stall stock conv.. will very. aprox 2000 +-

As for the drip I would not plug it or attempt to seal it. Eventualy the fluid would have to come out. But before then you would have allready drown your starter with trans fluid.(not a good thing) Was the coverter replaced, when the trans was rebiult? If not the hub may have enough wear on it to cause the seal to wear out premuturely. Thus causeing the leak. |

Yes the TC was replaced. It is oil not trans fluid & drips off the bottem of the flywheel cover. I'm not picky, just used to a tight car.

That oil is most likely coming from the rear main seal. Fix the actual problem. Don't put a bandadge on it, as you will have even more problems later down the road.
The factory TC can be anywhere from 1200 RPM to about 2000 RPM on this engine. |
