Default Swapping Engines

Does anyone out there know how difficult it is to swap out an old cast iron block for a newer mopar perf. alum block?? I would like to upgrade to elec. ign. and also an alum. block because of the fact that they are a lot harder to warp. Plus I figure if I am buying a new motor I should go for the higher end. Also has anyone heard anything good/bad about the keisler 5 spd tranny for a-bodies. I was thinking about going to a 360 and I want a 5 or 6 spd with it. If anyone can answer these question that would be great. I am just wondering on the swap what would have to be swapped out with the engine??

Thanks
Stephen

I think you got a good combo there. But one question is abou the aluminum block. Why are you worried about worried about warpage with a cast iron block? I have had no experince with warpage before. The factory somtimes tended to send the engine out in cars with un even deck measurement but even this is no reason to get 100,000 miles plus very easy out of these engines. Most people I see going for aluminum blocks are for weight savings. Most engine are stressed relived before from the factory before you get them. The 360 is a great engine thats why its still around today even in cast iron form. But a nice 340 Race aluminum block would be cool. with 400 cubes and putting out 600 horses but in a street car I think it would be a waste and over kill being you could almost build a 360 (if you had a core) For the price of the block alone! The 5 speed is a good idea too! These are just my opinion's. just somthing to consider!

I was not concerned about block warping. I am concerned about warping heads, and I was just thinking about buying a crate engine(which I probably won't do, because I want to build it up myself) but I was just thinking about the heads, and with an aluminum block you would also get alum. heads(which is what I hear warp quite often if overheated). And buying an old 360 then buying new heads would probably be pretty expensive. Would a short block be the right idea then to go for the engine? or should I try to find an empty block and then build it from the pan up myself. I am pretty good with engines right now, and my dad is always there to help me. But I would like a quick engine not necessarily a 600HP engine. Also if anyone happens to know, is there a place to buy a 20gal fuel tank for a 65 dodge dart, I am almost sure that a 20gal tank for any a-body would work but I am not sure.

Thanks
