Where you mount your gagues is a personal choice, if you want the dash to look balanced, but put the ones that are most important in a group/ i.e. oil # is more important than the fuel gague, RPM more important than MPH, engine temp/ fuel # etc, etc. It's the most important that you can see @ glance.

Or do like my buddy on his sprit car/ put tape on all the gauges and write " Why Worry".

On my friends Challenger we put one of the three gauge assemblies to the bottom of the dash above the center console.
Mot the best place for viewing, but OK for temp, oil, and alternator. Mount the tach where it is easy to read while still being able to see the road.
My friend has a small tach on the centr console, but he really dosen't use it for shifting, and he dosen't race the car.

Here, at this thread, is a good fella that makes reasonable priced custom dash's for a custom look and set up of gauges. He has been around for sometime and I recomend him hands down.
