intake porting
i've got an old edelbrock torker smallblock manifold
it has small but straightshot runners would there be any gains by enlarging the runners and doing a port match ? |

Porting thr intake, any intake is worth a few horse's. Depending on how radical the engine is, the more power can be found. Typically, mag's have reported anywhere from 5-25 hp in doin this.
Of course, the poorer the match in intake port to head will result in more power when corected as compared to one that takes a minor amount of work. Open the ports to the size of the gasket and not a .000001 more. Port into the manifold about 1 inch. |

I agree,
I ported my M1 dual plane because there were a lot of, what I consider, sharp corners (esp right under the carb base) that would cause flow stall and unwanted turbulence. Never dynoed it so I can't say it helped, but the theory was there... |
