push rod length
Has anyone tried (successfully) to shorten a set of CMly pushrods in a roller rocker application or would it be better to raise the shafts. Seems to me with a little care the cup end should be able to be removed, shorten the rod to a predetermined length and reinsert /press fit the cup end in the pushrod. It was borderline (1 thread) until I had the valves redone. I now have no threads showing on the rocker adjuster after setting the pre-load for hydraulic lifters and am scared of pivot burnout (or worse) due to lack of oiling.
thanks for any comments: |

With the right tools yes. But the cost of pushrods are neglagable when compared to a broke one at 6 grand and the lifter flys out of the bore and oil pressure reads 0 psi.
