No JimmII
Thats not the way it works.
If you could how would you know when you have gone far enough.
Also with news paper you would have to devote all of your remaining days and still you would not get it done.
spend the money and get it done properly.
It will save you time and money in the end.

I will double check them tomorrow after work,I just thought they were on the tight side.....as a foot note one of the people I work with, use to be part owner in a auto machine shop ,he metioned today that they use to polish the cranks with newspaper some how and it finished them VERy smooth...
I don't know it this could work or not so I thought I would ask....Thanks for all the replys..

I've heard of using emery paper (I think it is all 600 grit) for polishing cranks, but have never done it myself.

Very heavy virgin paper is an accepted way to add lustre to a very smooth steel shaft-but very heavy means like 90 lb. paper and it is used with oil at high RPM(like in a lathe). Even then, no metal is removed.

Besides, if you have main clearance at .0025" and rods at .0020" what more could you ask for? That is a perfect clearance for a race engine with multi grade oil-a little loose for a street engine. You only need more clearance if you want to use 50 wgt. oil.
