I just bought an 87 Horizon 4door hatchback with the nonturbo 2.2 and a stick for 50 bucks. I want to knock off some riceboys since they don't seem to want to go against my SS/T.
What can I do to get the best performance from the 4banger without spending a fortune? The car weighs 2,200lbs but I will strip it bare to save weight. I plan on finding smaller diameter tires to change my final gear ratio, then adding a header and cam and seeing if I can get the head ported for a decent price. What have I missed and what should I do? How would it hold up under a 75horse nitrous kit? |

the stock non turbo motor makes about 100 hp. what i would do is get a factory turbo w/ intercooler and put it one you might be able to scrunge your local boneyards and find a donor car . you would need all the wiring and computer though. it would boost the horespower to about 125-130. there is a company called foward motion that specials in those years of mopars. they have a website but i forgot what it is.
