Default 360 yes or no

I have a 1970 Dart swinger listed on ebay, a person emailed me and read my sale add, I wrote this dart came with a six cylinder now sporting a 1970 360 with J heads he wrote back and stated the 360 came out in 1972 So my Question is when did the 360 come out because I was shocked to when I read the date on the block it had - - 70 on it I also thought they did not come out in 70 but its clearly 1970 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2400091430

Nice, very nice.
They were produced for pass. cars as an alterntive to big block power without going to the hampster size 318. Which could be a bit under powered for some.
Police cars, as far as I know, got the 440's back in the day.

Question to you. What size tires and rims are on there. It does not look like you have much room left. I have a '72 and I will be looking to fill up the wheel wells.
Rim offsets? S/S springs? Etc,,, Thanks.

I love it when people tell you that you don't have, what you have.
There seems to be lots of that with e-bay buyers.

I don't have any idea when 360's came out, but my question would be this....What difference does it make?(to the buyer, not to us here in the ever curious world of mopar trivia)

It has no bearing on the originality of the car (since it was a /six car) or the value.

I had a guy(on ebay) tell me that my dad's 74 barracuda was only worth 10grand(he sold it for 15000 a week later)

He wasn't very happy when I told him that if he had 10grand to spend he should be looking at A bodys, and to stop wasting my time.(that was meant to be offensive to him, but not to any of you A body guys. I love A bodys. More than E's for that matter. Maybe I should stop talking before I offend owners from every car line )

The 360 first came out in 1971, but it wasn't available in A bodies until 1974. What you chave is a 360 from another car. BTW, that year cam with J heads and shares the 340 water jacket making over .080" overbore possible. I don't remember what car it was available in 1971. Of course, the 1971 model year starts around august 1970, and the engines are cast before the cars are assembled, so it makes perfect sense to have a 1970 casting number on it.

Thanks...

Al
