Question weight of street sleeper??

I'm thinking about going with a 78 Lebaron instead of the Aspin wagon idea, the one Deadhorse66 posted about in the dumb or doable thread, and I'm wondering does anyone know the wieght on one of those? Just wondering what kind of performance beef ups we'll need to get the thing moving. I'd rather have a wagon, but this thing still has a title! Thanks in advance for any help.

I got a woody for the '79 model myself. Diplomat as well. Those weights are about the same as my Cuda.
Do it, awesome looking car when done right. Nice and shiny.

Cool man! Thanks alot!! It looked pretty heavy, but I can live with 3505! with a 3:55 gear and a 150 shot it should be pretty suprizing to people!

It'll be lighter when you start taring out the sound deadener, spare tire and jack and......
You could also lose a bumper. (?)

yeah, I was kinda thinking that too. After loosing A/C, rear seat framing, insulation, Jack, spare, inner fenders maybe..I dunno, just anything I find that's not needed And then adding me, I figure it'll be some where around 3600?? That sounds like a reasonable guess. That's still not a bad weight I don't think! I dunno, I'm thinking it should be pretty peppy!

Don't forget the 5.9 Mag with M-1 and headers. Should we call it the "shut-up mobile"?

Don't forget the weight you could lose by using an aluminum intake and heads. Thats between 60 and 75 pounds there. But if you move as much neccesary stuff (i.e. the battery) as you can to the back it will make it hook up better.

yeah, I was thinking about moving the battery and stuff too. Probly the only thing we'll change on the motor will be an intake and headers. Oh yeah, and get rid of that lean burn junk! (not the cheesy/huge N2O cylinoid hiding lean burn air cleaner though!) Aluminum heads are alittle out of my price range right now. This motor is gonna be one of those "see how much power it can make, and how long it will last" kind of deals. Later on I might build a motor that can handle the set up alot better and live a pretty long life. But for now it's just gonna be a cheap sleeper

I would build bumper brackets to do away with the mega heavy backers and cylinders. An easy 100 pounds right there.
