163 or 302 head casting
A local guy can sell ne a pair of 302 heads for $175.00 a pair, this seems fairly steep to me. A new pair of heads from aerohead racing sells a pair for 399.00 complete, but the guy told me they were 163 castings.
What's the difference between 163's and 302's? |

man! i've bought several sets of '302's for $30 from a local junkyard and they guarunteed them too!
i wound up just completely rebuilding them with 1.88/1.60 valves once they were magnafluxed. '302's have heart shaped closed chamber heads and i believe the 163's are standard open chamber smog type heads. hunt around, the deals are there |

Yeah deals can be found. I just picked up a set of 302 heads for 300 bucks all complete 1.88 intakes 1.60 exhausts bronze guides MP springs. The heads were used for a season. Bone yard 302 heads can be easily found for 50 a set. The mods though are kinda pricey.
