I used the 426 conversion kit on an e-body. The Cuda originally had a 340. They worked very good & engine set in car as it should. These units were as close to solid mounts though, with only a small amount of neopream between mount pivots.
I dont think you will be going wrong by using them.

Hey Tim
Your going to need more than a stock pan on your combo, I believe Milodon has a good pan for your application email me and I'll check it out for you.

Is there a big difference in quality of motor mounts? Dealership wants $50 each, I put $8 Lordco ones on and I'm starting to get nervous...

Lordco! oh lord.....

Test them....bring RPM up to about 6K and slid your foot off the clutch..if the valve cover pops out through the hood their not strong enough

Personnally...I've never found a part for under $50 that works on my car...well maybe a fuse...I use a stock type mount...but I welded a strap top to bottom to make it solid...both sides. You've seen me launch and you know why...if it's got enough tork to pull the front tires a chunk of rubber sure isn't going to hold it together.

Hey Tim
I used there mounts before in my 73 Duster, of coarse the mounts was the spool type and yours I belive are the biscuit type mounts. I fit like a glove man, like it was factory. The mods to my K frame only took about 30 min if that. I belive the K members are a little diff between our cars, yours beeing a 71 A body. Its how the idler arm bolts on, I belive. I need the C body oil pan for my car because of the steering hardware. I would say you need one too. They were a very popular oil pan used on alot of C-body cars.

I used all the schumakers toys..the headers and mounts and stuff to stuff a 44 in my 69 a-body too. I couldnt find the oil pan they suggested around locally, so I just used another c-body pan. It works find....unless you count the small amount of rubbing. Ok, seriously it's still in there, but where the steering linkage comes across under the pan it touches...apparantly while Im driving with weight on the car, because with it on jackstands it doesnt hit turning it from lock to lock. it could eventually wear through and cause a leak, so Im on the lookout for the 187 or 699 that they recommend.
Oh by the way it has been in there and rubbing since '99 and its still leakfree...so draw your own conclusion...
If I roll under there this week ill try to get a picture on here to show exactly what im talking about.
