Help PLEASE help with cam recommendation

Please help a novice select a camshaft.

The 440 is in a '77 Ramcharger with 452 heads. I am not doing a complete rebuild and the rings and bearings are in good shape, along with the heads. Expense is a definite consideration.

I have purchased an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake with a 750 Holley double pumper and Hooker Competition headers.

I want to run as large a camshaft as possible but would rather not change my torque converter. But a noticeably "lumpy" idle would be nice.

My tendency, I am sure, is towards a cam that is too big and I am looking for a recommendation from you guys with experience.

The Ramcharger will see very little of road use and absolutely no race tracks other than the parking lot. I don't mind sacrificing a little low end, but very little.

PLEASE help!?

I suggest the HE1923BL or HE2330BL from Hughes Engines. They are more expensive then most cams, but worth it. www.hughesengines.com - have a look.

For something cheaper - Comp Cams 270 Magnum

Really Cheap - PAW cam and lifter set
