New T/O bearing & lube?
Is there a special lube to use or not to use on the input shaft slide when installing a new throw-out bearing?

I have allways used a high temp wheel bearing grease with never a problem. I have given the shaft a coating and packed the bearing with it.

I also try to jam more grease into the pre-packed bearings. I figured, it can't hurt. Hows the project coming along?

It's comming along fairly well, considerind the head I porteded in to the water jacket, I thank all for the help and advise on the patch but thought I would just do another head, waiting on the head right now. Will put the engine in the ole T as soon as the sub O cold lets up. I think I have figured out how to post a pic, when I finish the p & p on the heads I'll try to post then every one can at my job.
Thanks to all that have helped me and I will return the favors if I can. My ole T was built Ford tough now it's Ram fast! |
