Default Drive shaft loops

Is there a specific drive shaft loop designed for B bodies or is the Lakewood universal the one to get?

I think it depends more on what class you're going for and what power you're putting out to decide iof you want a Lakewood universal bolt in, or if you should go with the weld in type. Look in the back of your Summit catalogue or Jeg's, they both have a pretty good choice of which way to go. I am going mostly street with a BB/833 and am going with the Lakewood for financial reasons as well as not having too radical of a setup....

There isn't one specifically for B-Bodies or any other Mopar. I haven't heard of anyone that has been able to get a Lakewood Universal to just bolt on. Most, including myself, have had to do extensive modifications to get it to fit. The biggest problem is that the "U" is too big to fit in the trans tunnel. Not to mention that the "L" brackets also have to be trimmed. All this trimming means new holes have to be drilled, etc. I ended up having to weld most of the assembly together as the holes become useless. If you can get your hands on some 2" wide 1/4" plate, it may be easier and cheaper if you just bend one up yourself. You'll end up having to grind and weld, and fabricate either way.

Humm.... glad I wasn't the only one that felt that way about the lakewood loop.

I have a lakewood driveshaft loop on my 1971 Charger and it fit the trans tunnel fine, but I think I had to trim the "L" brackets so the top od the "L" did not hit the top of the trans tunnel.
