Default porting SB heads

I have a buddy of mine that is helping me to do the port work on my 360 heads for the Scamp. My question concerns the exhaust port that goes to the EGR. What should I do with that open passage in the chamber. It's blocked at the gasket and no EGR on a tunnel ram, but what about interupting flow or creating turbulance in the chamber by this useless passage? Any ideas on what to do with it would be great.

I usually fill them in with weld, but I'm a fanatic with head porting, though with a high rpm rig it's best to plug them up, especially with a custom set of headers & exhaust.

Someone suggested a long time ago about melting an old piston & filling the hole, might try that meself one day.

Default Old piston filler

Been there done that!
And it works very well!
We heated some old piston pieces in a cast iron skillet using a rose bud on our torch. Obviously you must clamp a piece of steel to close off the crossover at the intake manifold. When the aluminum melts just pour it in the exhaust port with the crossover in it.
Works great!!

Default plugs

Or you could just drill and tap for a hex plug 1/4 - 5/15" works too.
