Building A 451 Stroker
HELLO GUYS I AM GOING TO BUILD A 451 BUT AM FINDING IT HARD TO FIND ANY INFO ON THE BUILD. I ALSO READ IN MOPAR MAG. THAT A 440 CRACK WITH A 4.125 STROKE AND A .030 OVER 400 WILL NET YOU 496 CU. IN. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT.

there is actually a member on this board that I think will probably chime in even before this post is.. well, posted. His name is like 451man or something like that. I'm sure he'll be able to field your question.... If not, hunt him down...

Try Jim's site. He changed his 451 a little with hemi length rods not the 440 ones. He has a very quick car. Here's his site http://pages.moparalley.org/440Jim/website/id7.html

Use a search engine like google.com, and search for "451 manifesto"
It gives you basic info. www.kb-silvolite.com has pistons for the combo. I think the handle 92whitedak is talking about is "451mopar" Good engine choice. ps. please don't write you're posts in capital letters. On internet chat boards/rooms. it is considered SHOUTING, and some are offended by it. So please type normally |

Hey, it always nice to see someone remember my 451 Manifesto! I wrote that about 5 or 6 years ago. It has helped a lot of guys build up their stroker motors.

I thought the Manifesto was older than that
I though I read it back when I built my 451 around 1992-1993? Anyhow a search on this site should turn up a whole bunch of 451 topics. I got a Muscle Motors 451 engine because it's a simple and inexpensive engine compared to the bigger stroker engines (more cost and clearance issues.) The money saved was spent on good Brodix B-1 B/S heads from Koffels place. This was the best choice head for my "street" engine back in 1993, the Indy S/R and Edelbrock heads were non-existent back then. |
