I plan on building my '67 440 for street duty only using .030 over MP cast pistons and the original 915 heads with 2.08 - 1.74 valves and minor bowl work. I want to stay with a dual plane intake and mild performance cam specs. Choices I'm looking at are the Weiand Action-Plus, Edelbrock Performer, and Edelbrock Performer RPM. Cams include the MP Magnum repro (268-284, 450-458) and the Crane 272MVH (272-284, 454-480). The carb will be a 750 Edelbrock and exhaust will be Magnum manifolds with 2.5 in. pipes. It's all going into a beautiful, black '66 Belvedere II with a 4-speed trans, completely rebuilt suspension, chassis, and brakes, and an 8.75 rear with 3.23 gears and sure-grip. Any experience with or recomendations for the above parts selection will be appreciated. |

My '70 Road Runner is built about the same way.I have the Edelbrock performer on mine, but did consider the Weiand.I personally like the stock MoPar cam,or even going a little hotter.(I have the old street hemi grind 284d/ 471i/ 474e in mine)I also have a factory Holley that I did a little modification to(air bleeds, power valve channel restriction etc.)for the stock look.I'm actually thinking about putting the factory cast iron intake back on.
