Question Differential Oil Colour

Checked my differential oil level and observed oil was very black. Truck has only 13000 miles on it. Is this normal for what you have seen in your own trucks?

when i change mine it is usually dark but not black. do you have a limited slip? if so maybe it is the color of the friction modifier that has to be added. i dont have a limited slip so i dont know what color that would be. how much metal was on the magnet in the bottom?

I have not changed differential oil yet, was only checking it. Low mileage and is not due for change but I am going to change it out. Just does not seem right for it to be black so soon. Only about 4k towing trailer.
