22 hours and still not starting engine harness $1300

99 intrepid 45,000 miles engine died after getting to speed the tech at dodge by passed cam and timing sensor and it starts but will not run good.new computer didn't help. new harness is $1300 for part and they must remove top of engine and one fender. any others had or know of this problem?

What dealer are you going to? Anchorage Chrysler-Dodge's service department isn't noted for their brilliance. Might try Johnson Jeep-Eagle in Anchorage, they aren't Dodge but I've heard better things about them than about ACD.

Just a thought but the older 3.5L's wouldn't run if the cam timing was out more than a tooth.

I had a problem on my neon where the locating pin on the camshaft snapped causing the timing to be off and run terrible. Also as sixpack said check the timing belt to see if it jumped a tooth

The older 3.5l's would run with the cam off a tooth, and the car would drink gasoline, and sound like a a speedboat...that and you'd have a lot less power.

well they ordered the wrong parts so i don't have it back yet.Only been 4 weeks. But the good news is that DC is comping the parts and the dealer is billing me at $35 per. 15 so far the wiring harness doesn't fall under the emission 5/50 coverage.Hopfully it will fix the problem then i can get the new snow tires before spring thanks for the help.I will post when it gets done.

Merry Christmas, My car is runnung for two days now. seems that they finally took me seriously and pulled the front off of the motor and looked at the timing .They checked it and found nothing wrong but when they reassembled it it ran fine . 60 hours later even at "interal rates" it been 4 weeks and dc only wants to pay for parts. Only 12 hours rebuilding front of engine. we'll see what DC distric guy says. thanks for every thing i'll let you know next week.

Have had cam sensors that short out and cause a no run. Does this dealer not have a co-pilot or use the drb to take a snap-shot or if its not a snowmobile are they just clueless ??
