What are you trying to accomplish?
I messed with Carters (Edelbrock) some and there is a few things that can be done without buying the whole strip kit...most of which you won't use anyhow.

Perform a search. I thought it was a sticky, but I'm wrong. Demonsizzler has a thread about the do's and don't and what can be mixed between the Carter and Edelbrock carbs of all years.
Eholster, I was having problems getting into the tech section to read up on things. Any clue to this?

Don't bother with the carter strip kit, you can get all the tuning parts from Edelbrock.
I would recommend the step-up spring kit, Changing these springs is like changing the vacuum ratings on holley power valves.

The best part of the carter strip kit is that it has a pretty good selection of jets. If you need to re-jet, I believe the Edelbrock jets are the same as the carter jets.

The Edelbrock metering rods also will work, but are numbered differently. Usually you are better off to tune by changing jets.
Tuning with the rods may seem quicker and easier, but you need to be carefull in doing this because there is different step sizes in the rods and some rods can have the same effect of changing several jet sizes richer or leaner.
