I was thinking of putting a M1 on my 383hp instead of the stock manifold but was reading some of the old topics you guys had been talking about and it seems that there would be no improvment with the exception of less weight. The Mopar tech guy told me there would be some improvment but I figured he would say that anyway.Anyone agree?

It's basically the same casting as a factory cast. I can't see there being very much improvement. I would go with a different brand for a duel plane.

you could change your 4-bbl to a six pack and get more performance and better fuel economy. the only problem is that that costs about a grand

Looking at them both, they LOOK exactly the same. However I would go with a Edelbrock Performer or a Weiand manifold.

Whats the application? I take it your basically stock or you wouldnt be considering a dual plane.A Edelbrock Performer RPM is an excellent better than stock dual plane intake. Its a favorite of mine to use with stock or with a mild motor.....PRO...

The motor is basically stock with the exception of headers, ignition and a 750cfm carb.I'd like to get the most out of without diving into the shortblock yet.i'm running 3.55's in the rear.Besides the headers I was trying to keep the engine stock looking so thats why I was looking at the M1 dual, but I guess its not worth dishing out the cash over the stock manifold.I know Edelbrock recommends an adjustable valvetrain with the RPM since it makes power up to something like 6500 rpm but is it still decent without winding the motor up that high? Its my original motor so I'm a little paranoid about blowing it up.I'm actually really considering finding a 440 to drop in and put the original motor aside(but I'll keep the 383 badging on the car).Anyway I had a mildly built 440 in a Charger before I bought this Roadrunner and I really miss the nuts it had.

Edelbrock recommends the adjustables with their RPM cam, not the intake. This is to get a correct preload for the lifters, I think the basecircle of the RPM cam may be different than that of a stock cam. It isn't because of the rpms.
