Default 8 3/4 or 9 3/4 rear.

For a B-body, to fit in a '67 Coronet, want a drop in that doesn't need work. Don't care about the gears, prefer sure grip, don't mind a regular unit if I can't find a sure-grip.

Thanks guys, if you know a place to get a built rear (new or rebuilt) online, that would be great.

Unless it's an all out racer then the 8 3/4 is good enough. But mark my words what we just started will end up in a heated discussion about which is best. The 8 3/4 will be nuch cheaper and exactly what you need unless you can make more than 600 horse with a race engine and they are a direct drop in and every where. Dana 60's are high priced and somewhat hard to come by.

Default Sounds good to me.

(I just want to get rid of this /6 rear in the car.)
I want to get the rear first, then work on the HP. We all know from experiance. Once you upgrade one of the three main components that one breaks. Always. So I want to get ahead of a repair later.

Thanks for the post dwc43!

Question Nice.

What are the specs for the rear? (Question is for both Kevin and 65coronet)

What work would need to be done to the rear to make it work, or can I just put it in and go?

The only other questions are what is gear ratio, are the rear end the rebuildable 8 3/4's, and does it have sure-grip.

Thanks for the posts guys.

Talk to ya'll soon,

Jesse.
