Quick change Sec Spring house kit for HOLLEY!?
Ive watch that item on Summit and Holley relative part and accesorie sites!
Is it a "need to have part" for my carb if I feel wanna make the best of her running or is it waist money? I also have to order the spring kit and the total will be as astronomical as 14$ !!! LOL Best Olle B |

It's for drag racers that change the springs a lot due to track and weather conditions. You be the judge if you need it or not.

It also eliminates the possibility of tearing the rubber diaphragm during the spring change process.Cheap, convenient, goofproof, you don't often find that for $14!

Ive done alot of adjustment on my old Carter carb,I also got a set of springs and needels and was pretty sure of how the things work out!
Now Im change to a new bigger (750) vacsec Holley and also change to TTI 1 7/8" and a Holley Street Dominator! Ive already have KB 162 0.030 pistons and well ported 906! I guess I have to do some adjustment to make the system work all over the range and if the kit is to any help I will order it! Im not so familiar with the Holley function and I have not bolt on all the parts yet to tell if its works OK! Thats why I ask becourse Im going to order some other stuff from Summit and this seems to be a "Maybe" part!! But I guess I will need it!?? Best R Olle B |

The spring isn't the only thing that controlls the secondary opening. There's a port called a kill bleed that leaks off the vaccum needed to overcome the spring. The bigger the hole (port) the longer it takes the secondary to open. The spring controls mainly the open rate and the kill bleed controls mainly when the open rate starts. The port can be tapped out for a plug with a smaller or larger hole drilled in it to make the opening point tuneable. The quik spring change kit may be cheaper in the long run, torn diaphragms will cost more.

The kit is worth your money! Especially if you've never messed with the Holley vac diaphram (they're a little tricky without the kit).

Man there a pain to change! The quick change is a good item. Also there use to be a housing avaliable were there was a spring and a type of weight, in which you dont swap springs! You just turn it in a certain direction an the tension changes in side the housing! I belive that air filter clearance was the only drawback. In some 14 inch wide air cleaners would hit.....could be a issue. But definatly cool. I was think aroumd 30-40 Bones$.
