/6 with a 4Bbl, HP improvement???
I have a friend with a 77 Volare. It has a 225 with a 1 Bbl (?). He is thinking of adding a Clifford intake, and a 4 Bbl. The car has a stock 904 auto, and I think it has a 7 1/4 or 8 1/4 rear.
What kind of power increase can he expect to get with the new manifild and carb? What do you think? |

Clifford intakes on a stock motor scare me. They are more oriented to a built-up motor and may give away some low end on a stocker. For the money, I'd go to a Super Six setup and a header. You will be happier in the end.

Thanks for the input. I forwarded your reply to him.
I don't really know what he plans to do. I think the reason the Clifford set came to mind is that one of our buddies is selling a used Clifford with headers for $200.00. He hasn't yet put it on ebay, but I'm sure that's where it will wind up if Ricky doesn't buy it. I thought about buying it myself for a future Dart project. But I think I've got enough of a handful with the '72 I working on right now. Anyway, thanks for your help. |

That is a sweet deal! He could always buy it and build another engine and do a swap. Wonder which headers they are. I would love a set of 6into1 headers.
