Default .960 or 1.00 torsion bars for my B body

Requesting feed back from anyone that has use the .960 or 1.00 diameter torsion bars for street performance. I have a 69 Coronet (360) that I just finished the rebuilding the rear suspension with ss leafs, 7/8 sway and KYB shocks and polyurethane bushings. The front will be built using the same except for 1 1/8 sway bar. I want to complement and balance the handling with with stiffer torsion bars. Looking for advise for strictly street performance. The car is for fun only and not a daily driver. Thanks for any feedback.

For street only, the larger the bar, the better it will handle.

I have the 0.960" street-handling bars on my 1971 Big Block Charger. It weighs #4,150 with the 451 stroker engine. The big block has alot of aluminum so the weight is not as bad as it could be.

These bars and the PST sway bars make the car handle pretty darn good, and the bars make the ride a bit stiff, but not any worse than some of the more modern performance cars. I can go over dips with out worring about smashing the oil pan so I'm happy

My Friend runs the 1.00" bars in his 1969 Charger with a 513 stroker engine and the car is street driven. It also is a good handling car. I don't know how stiff it rides as I never have ridden in it.

With either size bar, I hope you have at least 15"x7" rims because the stock 14"x5.5" rim/tires can't deal with the added handling loads, you will scuff the tires sidewalls on hard cornering.
Some 17"x8" rims would be a better choice for handling.
