Hey all, What would be the best tire and wheel size for optimum handling on a Shadow, without breaking the bank or making the ride completely uncomfortable?
Mine's a '92 4-door with a 2.2 auto. I know it's not a performance car, but I like it and it's very reliable. Just trying to get a little more fun out of it. Thanks in advance. |

Not sure on the size of your Shadow's tires, but on our 92 Caravan, I got new Aluminum rims and went to 215/65R 15 and noticed a big handling improvement. And the 3 spoke rims looked pretty sharp too. I think I paid $700 for the whole deal @ Discount Tire in '93.
Try in your local papers 'Bargin Corner' for some Daytona or charger rims. I think the Shadow ES rims are wider than stock, and would look sharp on a 4-door. Even try a salvage yard, Sometimes you can get factory aluminum rims for $20 @. |

I have a set of American Racing 15 inch wheels with 195/60R15 tires on my 94 Sundance (Duster). This thing sticks like glue! If you realy want WIDE, go with 225/50R15's..... Yes, they will fit.
B.T.W the 195/60's are the stock size that came on this car, and the 225/50's came stock on the Shadow CSX. Good luck! |
