5 on 4" weld drag lites
I thought someone on this site was able to get a set of Weld draglites custom made by Weld with the 5 on 4" pattern. Discount Tire is telling me NO and they said they called the rep at Weld and he said NO.
Has anyone done this? |

Have you phoned Weld directly?
I can't imagine it would be that tough for them to do what you're asking. They oughta offer these anyway. |

Gezz.... bad thing is, it's easier maybe cheaper, to convert to 5x4.5 bp..if you go to the trouble and expense of getting rims 5x4 bp, custom would be high dollar, just hope you never have to replace the rotors or the drums for that 5x4 bolt pattern... they are hard to find new ,let alone used in good shape.... if ya do they are not cheap....

next time you see a Weld wheel you like, look at the back where the stud holes are drilled. Are they on a pad? Will the pad accomodate a smaller bolt circle? If the pad is not able to take a smaller BC, then you are out of luck. This is how they are cast and nothing will change that. Try and find a wheel that has no "pads" like a solid Centerline. I believe Crager SST's are available in 5 on 4 but they are kinda ugly

New rotors for 5 on 4 are $97.00 each at the local Car quest. Crager ss and Eagle solid aluminum are the only wheels Les Schwab stocks. My buddy that works there says Centerline told him they could drill wheels for 5 on 4. Has anyone used the Yukon axles to convert to the larger pattern? I've heard the mosers have a little trouble lining the brakes up.

Here in the midwest, the 5X4 stuff (drums, rotors, calipers) are reasonable and easy to find at local parts stores.
Moser axles work great, fit great, and are reasonably priced. They have all the dimensions for typical A body setups and can get the right axles for your application. Centerline makes many of thier rims in 5X4, and I have always thought they were the only ones who still carried it. Save the big bolt pattern swap for another day, and go with the better Centerline rims. Dartman |

I did some pretty extensive searching for 5 by 4 wheels in the last few months for my 71 Swinger. Here are all of the choices I know for 5 X 4 out there...
1. Centerline Auto-Drag 2. Centerline Convo Pro 3. Cragar SS 4. Wheel Vintiques Rallye 5. Stockton Wheel BTW, if you are interested, I have a new set of Centerline Convo Pro that I must part with. The Summit part number on them is CLL-005755540. 5 X 4, 15 X 7.5 with 5" backspacing. I bought them for $630. $550 to your door. If you are interested (or anybody else), email me at ted_steiner@jepplg.com. |

ted,
disregard the 5 on 4 statement in the email I sent. Interested in the rims though. FDC |

Guys/Gals:
Thanks for all the input! I really appreciate the help. I always thought they forge the rims and drill the pattern after, so I didn't think it would be a bige deal to get them custom. We'll see though. |
