how big of tires can I go?

I'm looking at cutting off the quarters and inner wheelwells out of my '69 Roadrunner. I'm not cutting my framerails out. It appears that from the frame to the lip of the quarters I have 17 1/2". I'll be putting in some tubs and I'm wanting to know if there is anyone out there that has done this and how big of tires you went. I want the fattest I can cram in there!!!!!
Thanks guys.

Thanks 70 barracuda that would be interesting to see. Now if I remember right the 70 on up E bodies had smaller wheel wells? I know on my stock '70 and '73 cudas I could only go up to 275-50-15's and they even were close to scraping my wheel well lips.
Well anywys, your car would be great to see!

Default wide tires

68 runner ladder bar leaf spring, still stock frame rails, narrowed dana 60, wheel tubs
16.5 inch hoosiers. run them on the street all the time, never rubbed.

Question for fastmopars.inc, Are you running 12" or 14" wide wheels. What type and offset? Also, how much did you narrow your dana?
Sounds very interesting! I thought the widest tire I could go would be the 15 1/2" wide. I'm very interested about hearing more about your car. Sounds like you have your's set up a lot like I want to set mine up like.
