Default Spring relocation costs ?

Im considering the 3 inch inbound spring relocation kit for my dart, I know its only 90 bucks but i dont have any welding experience. To relocate the perches and do the nessesary mini tubbing how much would i be looking at spending?

The brackets from MP through Summit are about $100. The welding would probably take a couple hours at a welding shop at, maybe $60 per hour?

You don't have to tub it.

Well I read in mopar muscle they did an article on it, They said to take full advantage of the 3 inch inboard spring relocation kit you would have tub out the inner fenders. But there is another kit that gives you an extra 3/4 inches of space. I am not sure which one I want to go with, 3 inches inward or the simpler 3/4 inches inward. They said 10 inch slicks fit fine with the 3/4 inch ones but who knows how prone to rubbing they would be or if 10 inches wide is enough to totally grab.

WQhen we did the 3" relo on sailor Son's '66 Barracuda last year, 10" slicks cleared fine with new SS springs - both right sides.

Hey Doug, you hookin with 8 inch slicks? I heard 10's were a little too big for a small block. I too am lookin to get a bigger wheel under my 65 but the 3's seem to be pushing the limit of the original gas tank in my '65 Cuda. I will probably just get the biggest negative offset I can to get it close to the original leaf. Whats the largest street tire you can get under your Fish?

When a straight edge is used on one of the five A-bodies I own the springs are inline with the inner fender well and the tire will contact the fender well befor it contacts the springs. If Super Stock springs are used 275x60x15 tires can be run with out any modifications, because the inner fender well inteferance is raised above the top of the tire. At normal ride height with the rear leaf spring level the maximum tire size is 235x60x15 which is 26.1" in diameter and has tread width of 7.6". You could try a 295x50x15 on the car it would give a tread width of 9.5" but would require a rim between 8-11". Other combinations and considerations could fit your application better, good luck on the project.

What Gearge says is true. I use an 8" standard offset wheel with the 295/50s. I measured the tread width a just a tenth or so over 10". I think it depends on the tire manufacturer.
