Does anyone know of a good source, manufacturer, of seller of 16" wheels with 4.5" bolt pattern?

For my 67 barracuda I'm thinking of going with 16x7 in front with 4.5" BS holding 225/55/16 and in the back 16x8 with 4.5" BS and 245/50/16. The front has been changed to 73 a-body disks, and the rear is redrilled a-body 8 3/4 for 4.5" bolt pattern.

I would really like to hear if anyone has ever tried sizes similar to this, or if you think I will have any trouble. I'm also curious if people who have had 16" wheels have noticed a big difference over the 14" or 15" with handling, cornering, etc..

Keith, I've fit 16X8's on the rear of my 68 Dart W/245/45X16 Comp T/A's, but the rear is a cut down C-body unit (56.5" flange to flange), so my back space is 4". Also used the S/S offset kit for that last 7/8". The wheels are American Racing "ARII." It's not finished yet, so no report on how the shorter side wall effects ride & handling, but I assume ride will be a little harsher & sidewall flex will be all but eliminated (a real problem on my bro's 69 Coronet 500 staton wagon W/255/60X15's!).

The problem with finding good 16" and 17" and even 18" wheels for older cars is that most are for the newer cars with the huge back spacing and no dish. The only source I have found is Centerline's Billet Series. They can be ordered in many offsets and bolt patterns and a few of them actually look good on something other than a street rod. I have contacted BBS Wheels to see if they might offer something in a racing wheel for older RWD cars, but they are still thinking about it. If anyone knows of any other wheel manufacturers that make larger diameter rims for Mopars, let me know. I'm looking for something that can handle road racing and not get out of round. Thanks.

Get a copy of "Truckin" magazine. All of the wheel manufacturers there have wheels that will fit your car.

I've had a set of 17X10 police interceptor wheels made up for my '68 Charger R/T from Stockton wheel here in California. I'm not sure what the phone number is, but they do advertise in most of the car type of publications in the small ad area. I have to warn you though, they where pricey

Search the web. Budnik, Boyds, American Eagle, Colorado Custom, American Racing,
Prime, Progressive, Weld Wheels, Centerline.
Try http://www.salesco.com/wheels. Some of these wheels can be quit expensive.

don't belive everything you read buddy. some of these wheel manufactures named are one out of aftermarket business (boyds, superior) and some make virtually all front wheel drive apps. (budnick) 1. If your a-body wheel base is stock the tires you want to put on will rub for sure on front. 2. you may get away with the tail end if your lucky. 3. Your hands down best bet in aftermarket wheels for what you are doing is weld wheels. Many different styles and backspacing options to choose from. American racing is always good. Stick to the big names (american racing, modern, weld) avoid the fancy names (einki, budnick, neeper) The big names have a far better warranty, as well as quality control. The fancy names are flat out expensive. Even though cheeper avoid alot of mail order names like eagle especially, very poor quality control.
